Hawaii Battery Bonus Program
Hawaii's Energy Storage Incentive Program
Help Hawaii move towards its goal of 100% clean energy by 2045! In September 2022, the AES coal-fired plant on O'ahu will be replaced with 50 MWs of distributed solar + storage. Hawaiian Electric is paying a cash incentive for customers on O'ahu to add energy storage to an existing or new rooftop solar system.
This video explains why the Battery Bonus program was created and what the benefit is to solar installers on the island of O’ahu. Hear directly from Ben McCormick, CED Greentech Hawaii Manager, Kaiulani Shinsato, Director of Customer Energy Resources Programs at Hawaiian Electric, Rocky Mould, Executive Director at HSEA, and Chris DeBone, Owner of Hawaii Energy Connection (HEC).
